About Us
City Rexall Drugs started business as City Drug Store sometime between 1903 and 1906 in the small logging town of Picayune, Mississippi. In 1947 the business was purchased from the Stovall family by Ben and Johnnie Griffin. City Drug Store became a Rexall franchise in the 1950's. It was moved from it's original location on the corner of Canal Street and Main Street to the Alexander Shopping Center, Picayune's first shopping center in 1965 for better parking. In 1985 with the death of Ben Griffin, John Griffin, his youngest son, returned home to the family business and ran it with Johnnie until her retirement in 2002. Today City Rexall is still a family business with Ben Griffin's granddaughter, Sarah Barrack store manager.
